WHO ARE WE?

Founded in 2018, Mock Trial is Virginia Tech's first legal club. As an organization, we meet multiple times a week to analyze a case, prep the case, and work to perform our best against some of the most prestigious universities across the nation in what is known as the American Mock Trial Association's (AMTA) collegiate competition season. We compete in multiple invitational tournaments and the Spring AMTA National qualifier tournaments (Regionals, Opening Round Championship Series (ORCS), and Nationals). As a club based around the interdisciplinary nature of law, our students prepare witnesses with expertise in fields such as biochemistry and eyewitness testimony psychology, play those same witnesses, and put on a simulation of a real-world trial based on our yearly case problems.

Our team offers workshops, team excursions, networking opportunities, and more for any student looking to enter a career in law- or students who are simply fans of dressing up and arguing.
